Yangju City Releases Results of the 2025 Social Survey
Population Nears 300,000; Life Satisfaction on the Rise
Childcare Satisfaction Up 18.8%... Okjeong 2-dong Has Largest Population; Highest Proportion in Their 50s
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has published the "2025 11th Yangju City Social Survey Report," which analyzes citizens' satisfaction with daily life and their awareness of social issues, and released it on the city's official website.

View original imageThis survey targeted 810 sample households with members aged 15 or older residing in the city, and covered indicators related to welfare, housing and transportation, and Yangju-specific topics, encompassing all aspects of citizens' lives.
According to the survey results, as of 2024, the total population was 298,888, an increase of 22,228 people (8%) compared to the previous year. Okjeong 2-dong had the largest population at 57,602, and by age group, those in their 50s made up the largest share.
The average score for "satisfaction with life" also increased slightly. Satisfaction with life was 6.2 points, up 0.1 points from the previous survey, and the proportion of respondents in their 20s who reported being satisfied with life was the highest at 60.8%.
In the housing sector, 34.6% of citizens were found to have lived in their current residence for more than 20 years. When choosing a place to live, convenience facilities (such as hospitals and cultural centers) were the most important factor at 34.5%, and satisfaction with housing (including facilities and size) was 56.2%.
In the education sector, the proportion of respondents who answered that they were satisfied (very or somewhat) with the childcare environment was 52.7%, an increase of 18.8% compared to last year. Satisfaction (very or somewhat) with the public education environment also rose by 3.8% to 20.2% compared to last year, indicating an overall improvement in satisfaction with the educational environment.
A Yangju City official stated, "This social survey is a valuable resource for hearing the genuine voices of our citizens," adding, "We will analyze the needs expressed in the data, further develop areas with high satisfaction, and use the findings as basic data to establish effective measures for areas that need improvement."
