JCS Completes All 22 Field Maneuver Exercises Postponed During August UFS
The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on December 29 that all 22 combined field maneuver exercises, which had been postponed during the Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) joint exercise between South Korea and the United States in August, were completed by the end of the year.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, "To maintain a balanced combined defense posture throughout the year and to ensure training conditions, we adjusted and completed the schedule for 22 out of approximately 40 planned South Korea-U.S. combined exercises during the UFS period."
The major combined exercises conducted this time included combined tactical parachute drops, search and rescue operations, equipment maintenance support, and live-fire training. However, two exercises, including airfield damage recovery training, were carried out solely by South Korea.
