On December 26, Lotte Medical Foundation announced, "Athlete Hwang Yumin donated 10 million won to Bobath Children's Rehabilitation Center to support treatment costs for children with disabilities and to improve rehabilitation environments." Following her donation of 12 million won last year, she has contributed to children's treatment and rehabilitation funds for two consecutive years. This year, she added sincerity to her giving by requesting that the donation be delivered quietly without a separate presentation ceremony.

Hwang Yumin is a golfer with three career wins on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour. This year, she won both the Lotte Championship on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour and the Daebo HausD Championship on the KLPGA Tour. In March, she claimed victory at the season opener of the Taiwan Ladies Professional Golf Association (TLPGA) Tour, the Foxconn Players Championship. She received the Popularity Award at the KLPGA Awards Ceremony for two consecutive years. By winning the Lotte Championship, she secured her LPGA Tour card and will compete in the United States next year.
