Hwaseong City Ranks First in 'Performance Improvement' Category in Board of Audit and Inspection's 'Internal Audit Activity' Assessment
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 24 that it had been selected as the top institution in the "Performance Improvement" category in the "2025 Internal Audit Activity Assessment" conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection.
This assessment is a system that comprehensively reviews the operation of internal audit organizations and personnel, audit planning, execution and follow-up measures, and internal control support performance for central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions in accordance with the "Public Audit Act."
In this year's assessment, Hwaseong City ranked first among cities and counties with urgent administrative needs, earning an institutional commendation.
The Hwaseong City Audit Office received high marks for its focus on strengthening the expertise of internal audit personnel, expanding audits in areas closely related to citizens' daily lives, and enhancing internal controls and institutional improvements. In particular, it was recognized as the local government with the most significant improvement in assessment results compared to the previous year, earning the distinction of top institution in performance improvement.
