Gwangmyeong City Ranks First for Two Consecutive Years in "Internal Audit Activities" Among Cities with Population Under 300,000
Selected as Top Institution in Board of Audit and Inspection Evaluation
Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 24 that it has been selected as the top institution for the second consecutive year in the "2025 Internal Audit Activity Evaluation" recently released by the Board of Audit and Inspection.
This evaluation is conducted annually by the Board of Audit and Inspection, comprehensively reviewing the appropriateness of internal audit organization operations and the effectiveness of internal control systems at central government agencies, local governments, and public institutions.
In this year's evaluation, which covered 720 institutions nationwide, Gwangmyeong City ranked first among 48 cities with a population of less than 300,000.
The city explained that it received high marks not only for its performance in internal audit activities, but also for its efforts and achievements in strengthening internal controls, organizational support and attention to its internal audit body, and the expertise and composition of its audit personnel, demonstrating excellence across the board.
Previously, the city was also selected as the top institution in Gyeonggi Province's "2025 City and County Internal Audit Activity Evaluation."
