Jinju City Opens Outdoor Skating Rink Filled with Winter Romance
Open Until February 22 Next Year
Ice Rink and Tube Slide in Operation
Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province held the opening ceremony for its 'Winter Outdoor Skating Rink,' located at the southern plaza of the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium in Chojon-dong, and officially began operations.
The opening ceremony, held on December 20, was a great success, attended by distinguished guests and many citizens. Following the ceremony, young figure skaters from Busan and South Gyeongsang Province gave an 'ice show' performance, which was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
In particular, the 'photo zone,' designed to create special winter memories for citizens who visited the skating rink despite the cold weather, enhanced the atmosphere with colorful lights and charming decorations, attracting the attention of many visitors.
The outdoor skating rink, with a total area of 2,255 square meters, consists of an 'ice rink (skating rink and sledding area)' and an 'ice tube ride,' allowing visitors to enjoy various winter sports. Additional facilities for users' convenience and safety, such as a medical room, lounge, snack bar, and food trucks, have also been provided.
This year, the area for the 'ice tube ride' has been significantly expanded, and artificial snow has been sprayed on the ice to allow visitors to enjoy the fun and atmosphere of a snow sledding area.
The rink will be open until February 22, 2026. Operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and until 8:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. Reservations can be made through the 'Jinju City Integrated Reservation System,' which is linked to Naver Reservation, and on-site ticketing is also available.
