The Pyeongtaek Art Center, constructed by Pyeongtaek City in Hamaksan Central Park, Godeok-dong, Gyeonggi Province, has opened its doors.
On December 18, Pyeongtaek City held a completion ceremony for the Pyeongtaek Art Center, attended by approximately 1,300 people, including Mayor Jeong Jangseon, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, key organization leaders, and local residents.

View original imageThe Pyeongtaek Art Center, which broke ground in 2022 and was completed in three years at a total project cost of 130.1 billion won, is the region's representative cultural facility with a total floor area of 24,477 square meters. The center features a large theater with 1,318 seats and a small theater with 305 seats. It was built to reliably accommodate a wide variety of performances-including classical music, opera, musicals, ballet, and Korean traditional music-by incorporating world-class acoustic design, a variable stage, and advanced stage systems.
The exterior features an expansive roof and wood-patterned structures to create a sense of stability. The design has been praised for balancing the scale of a large cultural facility with restrained aesthetics, harmonizing with the surrounding urban landscape.
