Company CEO Sentenced to Prison for Seizing Disabled Employee's Loan and Falsely Accusing Him of Sexual Assault
A company CEO who seized a loan secured by a disabled employee's house and, when the crime was about to be uncovered, falsely accused the employee of being a sex offender, has been sentenced to prison.
On December 18, Judge Kim Jiyeon, presiding over Criminal Division 6 of the Gwangju District Court, sentenced a man in his 50s, referred to as Mr. A, to three years in prison on charges including incitement to false accusation and forgery of private documents.
A woman in her 30s, referred to as Ms. B, who was indicted on similar charges, received a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years, along with 120 hours of community service.
Mr. A, the company CEO, was prosecuted for embezzling 200 million won by taking out a loan secured by the house of an intellectually disabled employee, Mr. C, in 2020 when the company was facing financial difficulties.
To cover up the crime, Mr. A pressured Ms. B, a female employee and accomplice, to file a false report accusing Mr. C of being a sex offender so that he would be punished.
