Due to significant fluctuations in water flow during rainfall, there have been ongoing concerns about flooding in nearby areas.
The maintenance project will cover a total length of 4.1 kilometers, stretching from Gomo-ri, Soheul-eup to the Gasan-myeon area in Pocheon. The project will first enhance the Gomo Stream’s flood response capabilities by reinforcing 1.26 kilometers of river embankment. Additionally, it will utilize idle river land to create a waterfront park and walking trails, ensuring that local residents can safely enjoy the area.
The total project cost is 13.3 billion won, funded by the province, and includes 7.2 billion won for construction, 4.6 billion won for compensation, 1 billion won for supervision, and 500 million won for design and other expenses.
