During this regular session, a total of 15 agenda items were reviewed and approved, including the 2026 revenue and expenditure budget proposal. The council also checked key policy issues through the 2026 county administration report and a Q&A session on county administration.
In particular, the Special Budget and Accounts Committee, chaired by Kim Wonjung and held from December 3 to 5, reduced the proposed budget submitted by the executive branch from 622.97202 billion won by 2.0575 billion won, adjusting the final amount to 620.91452 billion won. The council explained, "We reviewed the budget focusing on feasibility and effectiveness of execution, taking into account essential projects directly related to residents' lives and the county's financial situation."
Subsequently, during the three-day county administration Q&A session from December 8 to 10, council members raised questions and the executive branch provided answers on 13 key county administration issues, including the revitalization of the Naman District and Muan County's mid- to long-term development strategies. The council urged the executive branch to thoroughly review the problems identified in county administration and the alternatives proposed by the council and to actively reflect them in county operations.
Lee Hosung, Chairperson of the Muan County Council, stated, "This regular session was an important period for setting the budget and direction for county administration for the coming year," adding, "In 2026, we will continue responsible legislative activities, prioritizing residents' needs and regional development as our top values."
