The city explained that Banwol-dong, being an outlying area, has long lacked infrastructure for youth activities, and there have been continuous calls for the establishment of such facilities.
'Bandarak' is a compound word combining Banwol-dong and 'firefly.' It is located on the third floor of a neighborhood living facility at 66 Geungeon-ro, Sangnok-gu, in front of Changchon Elementary School.
The facility is free to use and operates from Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturdays, it is temporarily open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
Following the opening of Bandarak, the city plans to open additional youth free spaces: 'Kkumjarak' in Hosu-dong on December 17, and 'Bonorak' in Bono 2-dong on December 24.
