Innovative Site Visits with an Expert in AI Quality and Advanced Technologies
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that on the previous day, Kim Kanghee, who serves as an expert member of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Association and as the head of the residents' association for Haeoreum Village Complex 2, was appointed as the one-day honorary mayor. Kim then toured major municipal sites as part of the day's schedule.

After the appointment ceremony, Honorary Mayor Kim first visited the GTX-A Unjeong Station Transfer Center to inspect the progress of transportation infrastructure development and exchanged opinions on ways to integrate AI technology into future transportation services. She then visited the Unjeong 5-dong Administrative Welfare Center to review the local administration and welfare service delivery systems and discussed potential improvements to enhance convenience for citizens.
Subsequently, Honorary Mayor Kim visited the Paju Career Experience Support Center, which serves as a pilot institution for AI education linked to school curricula. There, she examined the current status of AI education programs and emphasized the need for a systematic approach to curriculum management so that students can gain a more accurate understanding of artificial intelligence. Lastly, she visited the Unjeong Danurim Welfare Center for the Disabled, which operates rehabilitation programs based on AI and advanced technologies, to review cases of technology support services for people with disabilities and their operational status.
After completing the site visits, Honorary Mayor Kim stated, "I was deeply impressed to see Paju City actively implementing policies in line with future trends, as advanced technologies like artificial intelligence are being utilized across all areas of citizens' lives, welfare, and education. I will continue to actively cooperate for the development of the local community."
