Korea SMEs and Startups Agency Launches "Smart Logistics Advisory Committee" to Address SME Logistics Challenges
Establishing a Continuous Communication Channel with Field Experts
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency announced on December 11 that it has launched the "Smart Logistics Advisory Committee" to respond to changes in the global logistics environment and to address logistics challenges faced by export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Smart Logistics Advisory Committee was established to create a continuous communication channel with field experts in order to resolve logistics challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises, and to discuss strategies for promoting integrated logistics support projects covering air, sea, and inland transportation.
The advisory committee consists of 15 experts from various fields across logistics and trade, including representatives of export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises, logistics system companies, professors specializing in international trade and logistics, and executives from global platforms.
The committee will primarily address the following agenda items: directions for establishing an integrated logistics support system for small and medium-sized enterprises; the development of new customized logistics support measures for these enterprises; and the current status of logistics challenges and potential solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises arising from both internal and external crises, such as the imposition of tariffs by the United States.
Kang Seokjin, President of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, stated, "By the end of 2026, the Smart Trade Hub, a logistics center dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises, will be completed, and an integrated logistics support platform connecting air, sea, and inland transportation will be fully operational. Based on the feedback gathered through the advisory committee, which includes logistics experts from various fields, we will strengthen our logistics support projects and take the lead in resolving logistics challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises."

Meanwhile, the Smart Trade Hub is a collaborative model in which the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, Incheon International Airport Corporation, and private companies work together to reduce logistics costs for small and medium-sized enterprises. Equipped with smart logistics systems such as an AI vision system and automated warehouse robots, it will operate as a "one-stop logistics platform" that provides integrated support for the entire process, from storage and transportation to customs clearance. Export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to access high-quality logistics services provided by professional logistics companies at costs that are more than 10% lower than before, regardless of shipment volume.
