Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province is joining forces with Seoul National University Siheung Campus to host a forum aimed at strengthening the learning and career competencies of youth in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
On December 10, Siheung City announced that it will hold the lecture program "Turning On Our Children's Learning and Careers in the AI Era, ON" at the Seoul National University Siheung Campus on December 22 and 23 as the first event of "University and City Forum Season 2."
The "University and City Forum" is a knowledge and policy sharing program for citizens that the city has been operating since 2022. This program has established itself as a leading regional cooperation platform by serving as a forum for public discussion connecting the university and local residents.
For Season 2, Seoul National University Siheung Campus will directly plan and implement the program, providing citizens with specialized content.
The city will prioritize the high-demand areas of learning and career development as the first program. Professors from Seoul National University will directly participate in the lectures, providing career consulting information essential for the AI era.
On December 22, lectures for parents of elementary school students will include: "Establishing a Time Routine for Our Children" (Professor Kim Dongil) and "Reading Guidance and Children's Literacy" (Professor Choi Naya).
On December 23, lectures for parents of middle and high school students will cover: "Careers in the AI Era: This Is a First" (Professor Lee Chan) and "Self-Directed Learning Strategies" (Professor Shin Jongho).
Those wishing to participate in the lectures can register in advance by scanning the QR code on the poster by December 19. On-site registration will also be available. Seoul National University will provide commemorative gifts to participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
A representative from Seoul National University Siheung Campus stated, "Starting with this lecture, Seoul National University will use its own budget to actively operate programs that directly engage with citizens," adding, "We will expand the scope of the forum to include local issues and policies, thereby strengthening communication with residents."
