The wind of data is blowing over the scent of oil at the refinery site.
S-OIL (CEO: Anwar Al Hejazi) has received the '2025 CIO of the Year Award' in the manufacturing industry category, hosted by the Korea CIO Forum.
The 'CIO of the Year Award,' jointly organized by the CIO Forum of the Korea Information Industry Association and The Electronic Times, is the most prestigious award in Korea given to top executives such as CIOs and CISOs who have made significant contributions to digital innovation. S-OIL was highly recognized for its next-generation ERP implementation, AI-driven management innovation, and for setting a best-practice model in the industry.
S-OIL has been carrying out a company-wide next-generation ERP implementation project to support new chemical businesses, including the Shaheen Project, which is the largest petrochemical investment in Korea.
The next-generation ERP project, which involved over 150 participants over a total of 10 months, was successfully launched in January 2025. It improved more than 40 core processes across 10 key functions such as accounting, logistics, and production, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and management systems.
Additionally, S-OIL has completed a global ERP platform that integrates overseas subsidiaries, thereby securing both the stability and scalability of its international operations.
Alongside this, S-OIL is accelerating the intelligence of its management processes by integrating AI and digital transformation technologies. The company is implementing and expanding a generative AI-based internal AI assistant service, introducing an AI-powered procurement system, and deploying a gas station sales analysis platform (MAAS), among other company-wide AI initiatives. S-OIL continues to strengthen AI-based work innovation.
S-OIL's digital innovation cases are being shared at major industry forums and are attracting attention as a digital transformation model for the refining and petrochemical industry.
