On December 10, Daejeon City held the "2025 Daejeon Social Economy Festival" at the Daejeon Social Economy Innovation Town, providing an opportunity to share the achievements of the social economy initiatives pursued throughout the year.
Approximately 200 participants, including representatives of social economy enterprises, citizens, and officials from related organizations, attended the event, reaffirming the growth potential of the social economy.
This year’s festival featured awards for 26 individuals who contributed to the development of the social economy, a screening of the 2025 Social Economy Achievements video summarizing the year’s policy results, and presentations of outstanding cases by companies that directly implemented projects, allowing attendees to experience the changes and growth of the social economy together.
The Daejeon Social Economy Innovation Town, which hosted the event, has established itself as a key hub for the growth and support of social economy enterprises since its opening this year.
Of the total 51 offices, 43 (84.3%) have already been confirmed for occupancy or have expressed interest in moving in, demonstrating a high occupancy rate. Resident companies are strengthening their growth foundations by utilizing consulting services and participating in collaborative organization activities.
The social economy marketplace, which operated alongside the event, featured 18 companies offering product sales and hands-on programs that attracted many citizens. The venue showcased a variety of products, including pet supplies, handmade soap, nurungji (scorched rice snacks), and Christmas season items, creating a warm year-end atmosphere.
