Imsil County in North Jeolla Province will select students for the “2025 Academic Improvement (Academy Entrustment) Program” at Imsil Bonghwang Talent Academy from December 15 to 17.
According to the county on December 10, this program is designed to support various educational initiatives, such as providing academy education programs to elementary and middle school students in the region, including those from low-income, multi-child, and multicultural families. The aim is to address educational welfare blind spots and strengthen educational capacity.
For the 2026 selection, the county plans to select a total of 162 students: 80 students (grades 1-6) in the elementary arts category, 15 students (limited to 6th graders) for supplementary lessons in Korean, English, and Mathematics at the elementary level, and 67 students (grades 1-3) for supplementary lessons in Korean, English, and Mathematics at the middle school level.
Eligibility requires that at least one guardian of the applicant must be registered as a resident of Imsil County as of the application date, and the student must be enrolled in an elementary or middle school within the county.
The support amount is 120,000 won for elementary school students (arts or supplementary lessons) and 150,000 won for middle school students (supplementary lessons). Students will choose one subject for entrusted classes at a local academy specializing in arts or supplementary lessons for one year, from January to December.
The course duration is one year, aiming to provide students with a stable learning environment. Applications must be submitted in person at Imsil Bonghwang Talent Academy from December 15 to 17.
