Refurbishing Facilities in 10 Parks Using High-Pressure Washers
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province saved 500 million won in its budget by cleaning contaminated park facilities using high-pressure washers instead of replacing them.
On December 9, Yongin City announced that it had achieved budget savings by refurbishing severely aged and polluted park facilities through high-pressure cleaning methods.

The parks where high-pressure cleaning was carried out include Treasure Island Children's Park, Pummokgol Children's Park, Bajisan Children's Park, Train Play Children's Park, Jukjeon Children's Park, Imjin Children's Park, Munjeong Children's Park, Dojanggol Children's Park, Shinil Children's Park, and Supung Small Park-a total of ten locations.
The city spent 15 million won to select and manage contractors for high-pressure cleaning. In comparison, remodeling and facility replacement would have cost about 50 million won per park, resulting in total savings of over 500 million won.
In particular, the city evaluated that this approach helped preserve the environment by reducing waste such as scrap metal, paving blocks, and packaging materials.
