Dong-A Pharmaceutical was highly praised for its ongoing social contribution activities across multiple areas, including support for pediatric patients, low-income families, and regional coexistence, based on its corporate philosophy of fulfilling social responsibility in accordance with social justice.
Key initiatives include the “A Little Warmer, One Tempo More” campaign, which has donated approximately 1 million feminine hygiene products to about 8,600 female adolescents from low-income families as of this year. Through “Living Together with People with Developmental Disabilities,” the company has also provided emotional care and various social participation programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Since last year, the company has implemented The Charity Classic, the first-ever donation-linked KPGA golf tournament in Korea. Not only Dong-A Socio Group but also professional players participating in the tournament have joined in the donations, helping to spread the culture of giving. The funds raised through the tournament are gradually used to support children suffering from serious illnesses such as pediatric heart disease and leukemia.
Dong-A Pharmaceutical also continues its efforts for regional coexistence. The “Sharing Love Bazaar,” now in its 14th year, sells Dong-A Pharmaceutical products to local residents at affordable prices each year, with all proceeds used to support low-income and marginalized groups within the community.
The company also operates a volunteer pharmacy truck to deliver essential medicines quickly to local residents during disasters. Starting with the Pohang earthquake in 2017, the truck has provided essential medicines such as cold remedies and digestive aids to disaster-stricken areas, including the wildfire-affected regions in South Gyeongsang Province earlier this year.
