Showcasing K-Rail Infrastructure and Mobility Solutions
Hyundai Rotem is participating in the 4th Morocco International Railway Industry Expo (Rail Industry Summit Morocco), presenting comprehensive solutions for railway vehicles.
The Morocco International Railway Industry Expo, held from December 9 to 10 (local time) at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida, Morocco, is one of the major railway exhibitions in North Africa. This marks Hyundai Rotem's second consecutive participation following last year. The event is organized by the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) and the Railway Industry Cluster (MTI). Notably, the exhibition is held in conjunction with a railway industry summit, serving as a platform for expanding global partnerships.
Morocco, the only country in Africa with a high-speed rail network, is advancing its national railway strategy through large-scale investments in high-speed rail, regional and urban railways, and advanced signaling systems. In particular, with the 2030 FIFA World Cup approaching, Morocco is expanding its local transportation network and accelerating the extension of high-speed rail lines and infrastructure through the "Plan Rail Morocco 2040." Additionally, Morocco serves as a strategic crossroads connecting Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
At this expo, Hyundai Rotem's booth features exhibits themed around signaling, hydrogen, and high-speed vehicles. The company is showcasing components of train control systems essential for safe railway operations. The onboard signaling device is a core safety system that processes and controls train speed, location, and signal information in real time. Hyundai Rotem is also presenting the Balise Transmission Module (BTM), a device that receives ground information such as train location and speed limits.
In addition, the company is displaying models of hydrogen electric trams to highlight its capabilities in integrated hydrogen mobility solutions. Hyundai Rotem has introduced its vision for sustainable future mobility through its 2050 carbon neutrality roadmap.
Furthermore, through its high-speed train (EMU-320), Hyundai Rotem is presenting its vision for next-generation high-speed railway vehicle co-development. The company has localized core electrical components with its own technology, producing integrated train control management devices and traction motors, and recently exported high-speed railway vehicles to Uzbekistan.
