Shinhan Bank President Chung Sanghyuk Joins Relay Campaign to Eradicate Illegal Teen Gambling
Kim Miseob of Mirae Asset Securities and Lee Kwanghee of Standard Chartered Bank Korea Nominated as Next Participants
Shinhan Bank announced on December 8 that President Chung Sanghyuk has participated in a relay campaign aimed at eradicating illegal gambling among teenagers.
This nationwide campaign, which began in March under the supervision of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, is being carried out to prevent youth gambling issues and raise awareness of their seriousness and dangers.
President Chung joined the campaign after being nominated by Heo Chang-eon, President of the Korea Insurance Development Institute, and posted a photo on social media with the slogan, "Illegal cyber gambling targeting youth is a scam crime that you can never win."
President Chung stated, "Youth gambling is a serious issue that goes beyond individual problems and concerns the future of our society," adding, "We must all serve as a strong social safety net so that curiosity does not leave a lifelong scar." He continued, "Shinhan Bank will also faithfully fulfill its social responsibility by playing its fundamental role in finance, so that young people can grow up in a safe and healthy environment."
