Paju City to Launch 2025 “Winter Customized Running Track” Operations

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 8 that, following the enthusiastic response to the operation of the “Winter Customized Running Track” at Paju Stadium-the first of its kind in northern Gyeonggi in 2024-it will continue to operate the “Running Track” this year as well.

Given the high usage and satisfaction reported by citizens last winter, the city plans to reopen the “Winter Running Track” for a total of 63 days, from December 15, 2025 to February 15, 2026.

The “Running Track” operated by Paju City last year attracted not only local residents but also many visitors from neighboring cities and counties. There were also field visits from other local governments and public corporations. Thanks to its vinyl greenhouse structure, the facility effectively blocks out external cold and prevents the track from freezing, greatly contributing to a safe and comfortable exercise environment during winter.

Additionally, by reusing most of the structures installed last year, Paju City reduced this year’s “Winter Running Track” operating budget by approximately 55% compared to the previous year. This has been recognized as an example of efficient budget execution that citizens can directly appreciate.

Lee Changwoo, Head of the Sports Division, stated, “The ‘Winter Running Track’ at Paju Stadium is a space designed to allow citizens to exercise safely and warmly even in winter. In response to last year’s positive feedback, we will operate it even more efficiently and with a greater focus on citizens this year. We aim to both reduce costs and improve the user environment, further contributing to the health of our citizens.”
