During the meeting, they reviewed the current actions taken by the unit and discussed additional measures to further mitigate noise in the future.
The military unit explained that, in response to requests from the city and residents, it has implemented various noise reduction measures, including adjusting flight routes, gradually increasing flight altitude, reducing night flights, and conducting some training exercises in external areas. However, the unit acknowledged that noise in residential areas still occurs despite these efforts and stated its intention to continue reviewing further improvement possibilities together with the city.
Additionally, the unit noted that helicopter operations do not take place after 9 p.m. on weekdays or on weekends, but in emergency situations such as patient transport or wildfire response, helicopter movements may be unavoidable.
Based on the opinions raised during the meeting, the city requested that the military unit consider further adjustments to flight routes. Hanam City also plans to continue seeking ways to minimize inconvenience for citizens through regular consultations and information sharing.
