Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on December 5 that it had signed a business agreement with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Saekyung University (Director Lee Sanga) at the Taebaek City Health Center for the consignment operation of the Mental Health Welfare Center.

View original imageWith the current consignment period set to expire on December 31, the city held an open recruitment in September. After the selection committee's review and related procedures, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Saekyung University was chosen as the final consignment institution.
Under this agreement, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Saekyung University will operate the Mental Health Welfare Center for three years, from January 2026 to December 2028. The foundation will provide integrated community-based mental health services, including center operation and management, mental health promotion projects, psychiatric rehabilitation programs, and suicide prevention initiatives.
A Taebaek City official stated, "With an institution that has years of operational experience and professional staff being consecutively selected, we expect to provide more systematic and stable mental health services."
