Parent in His 30s Booked After Visiting School With Blunt Weapon Over Dissatisfaction With School Violence Response
A parent in his 30s has been booked without detention by the police after visiting a school with a blunt weapon and verbally abusing staff, claiming that the school failed to properly address his child's experience as a victim of school violence.
The Jinju Police Station in South Gyeongsang Province announced on December 5 that a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, has been booked without detention on charges of making special threats.
According to the police, Mr. A visited an elementary school in Jinju around noon on December 3, carrying a blunt weapon and using abusive language in the hallway.
It was determined that he acted in this way because he believed the school had not properly handled the case of school violence involving his child.
It was confirmed that a teacher, feeling anxious at the time of the incident, reported it to the police. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident.
Currently, the education authorities are verifying the facts regarding the school violence issue involving Mr. A's child.
