Volunteer Work to Improve Housing for Vulnerable Local Communities
The University of Seoul announced on December 8 that on November 28, fifteen faculty and staff members participated in the "Building Hope" program operated by Habitat for Humanity Korea, engaging in volunteer work to build homes for vulnerable populations.

View original imageDespite the severe cold, the faculty and staff members carried out a variety of construction tasks, including assembling roof trusses, reinforcing walls, organizing materials, and tidying up the construction site, working diligently throughout the day.
Those who participated directly in the construction process shared their thoughts, saying, "Although it was physically demanding, we felt a great sense of fulfillment in being able to make a small contribution to neighbors in need."
As a public university, the University of Seoul is committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities by promoting a variety of community service initiatives. To systematically manage these efforts, the university has established the Global Seoul Social Contribution Group, actively supporting volunteer work by its members.
Notably, this activity was given added significance by the direct participation of Park Hoon, Vice President for External Affairs and head of the Global Seoul Social Contribution Group.
Vice President Park expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank all the faculty and staff who willingly participated despite the cold weather. I hope today's small act of service will bring meaningful change to neighbors in need."
