Samcheok to Host "2025 Samcheok Carbon Neutral Green Growth Conference" on December 9-10
The "2025 Samcheok Carbon Neutral Green Growth Conference," co-hosted by Samcheok City in Gangwon Province and Kangwon National University, will be held over two days from December 9 to 10 at Sol Beach Samcheok.
Under the theme of "Knowledge Sharing, Dissemination of Achievements, and Industry-Academia Collaboration," the event aims to explore sustainable development strategies for the local community.
On the first day, December 9, participants will share the 2035 National Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target (NDC) and future energy industry policies for Gangwon and Samcheok, and discuss key industry-academia collaboration projects such as the utilization of abandoned coal mine sites and liquid hydrogen initiatives.
On December 10, the conference will address regional environmental response strategies, including the CCU new industry ecosystem utilizing mineral resources and ESG management in cement plants. The event will conclude with research project presentations and an awards ceremony.
