This meeting was part of the "Regional Innovation Project · Home Appliance Tomorrow Project," supported by Gwangju City and the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office. The event was organized to share the outcomes and best practices in the consulting area of the "Home Appliance Industry Step-Up Support - Enterprise Support" program. It was attended by 20 participants, including representatives from local home appliance companies such as V Industry Co., Ltd., Free Idea Co., Ltd., TDM Co., Ltd., Indie J Co., Ltd., and ES Global Co., Ltd., as well as members of the Gwangju Human Resources Development Committee and professional consultants.
The "Home Appliance Industry Step-Up Support" program, launched in April this year, targeted 61 home appliance and convergence industry companies in the Gwangju area that were selected through fierce competition. More than 40 experts in fields such as home appliances, AI, displays, robotics, and testing and certification participated as dedicated consultants. The program provided a wide range of specialized consulting and business linkages to drive corporate growth, including establishing growth roadmaps, supporting new product development, and assisting with technology development and advancement.
The detailed implementation process began with a basic diagnosis to thoroughly analyze each company's current status, followed by matching them with appropriate experts in relevant fields based on the results.
For companies needing to advance existing businesses, one dedicated consultant provided "focused consulting," while companies pursuing new product development or business transformation received "convergence consulting" from two dedicated consultants. This approach not only offered consulting but also supported business linkages with the government and related organizations.
Through this tailored consulting, the program achieved results that exceeded its goals, including 61 consulting cases, 53 government and external organization-linked projects, the creation of 20 new jobs, and the discovery of three new business models.
As a special support type, three consortia (comprising six companies) were separately selected for new product development, with each consortium receiving up to 80 million won in comprehensive corporate support. Through collaboration among the participating companies, new products were developed, such as a sterile clean pet house, an AIoT amenity dispenser, and a UV-based photocatalyst sterilization pet air purifier. Integrated support, including consulting, prototype production, and product design development, led to high satisfaction and excellent outcomes among the participating companies.
During the sharing session, various innovation achievements and outstanding cases of beneficiary companies, as well as business linkages within the regional innovation project, were also shared.
Free Idea Co., Ltd., as an innovative company, received support for technology advancement and market development for the AIoT amenity dispenser, resulting in selection for multiple government-linked projects, attracting investments totaling about 1 billion won, and securing global clients, thereby expanding its growth base. V Industry Co., Ltd. established a foundation for launching new products and entering new markets through consulting and support linked with research institutions for the development of a UV photocatalyst pet air purifier. The company also diversified its sales base by opening a promotional center in Vietnam and being selected for government-linked projects.
Switch On Co., Ltd. established a foundation for entering the public market by building systems for manufacturing registration, legal certification, and procurement registration through business linkages within the regional innovation project and focused consulting. Ultimately, the company completed registration with the Public Procurement Service's Venture Nara platform, expanding its sales structure from B2C to B2G and B2B.
