BMW Launches First Ultra-High-Performance Wagon 'M5 Touring' in Korea
Outstanding Driving Performance and Versatility
Priced at 171 Million Won
BMW Korea launched the ultra-high-performance wagon model, the 'BMW New M5 Touring', on December 4, combining powerful performance with enhanced practicality.
The 'M5 Touring', making its debut in the Korean market, offers explosive driving performance along with the unique spatial versatility of a touring model. This makes it suitable not only for sporty driving, but also for daily commutes and long-distance journeys, embodying true versatility. The domestic retail price is 171 million won (including VAT).
The M Hybrid system, which combines the 'M TwinPower Turbo V8' 4.4-liter gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 585 horsepower and a 197-horsepower electric motor, has been applied. The combined system output reaches 727 horsepower, with a maximum torque of 101.9 kg·m. Acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h takes just 3.6 seconds, while 0 to 200 km/h is achieved in only 11.1 seconds.
It also supports a pure electric driving mode. With a high-voltage battery capacity of 22.1 kWh (gross), it can travel up to 55 km on electric power alone, based on Ministry of Environment certification standards. The maximum speed in electric mode is 140 km/h, and the maximum charging power for slow charging is 11 kW.
To enhance body rigidity, reinforcements have been added to the engine compartment, underbody, and rear section. The M Adaptive Suspension, which automatically adjusts damping force in real time according to driving conditions and selected mode, comes as standard equipment.
The 'M xDrive', an all-wheel-drive system exclusive to BMW M high-performance models, and the Integral Active Steering rear-wheel steering system ensure optimal handling and cornering performance tailored to driving conditions. Additionally, by utilizing the Drivelogic function integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, drivers can customize shift timing to their preference.
The front design features the exclusive M5 kidney grille with 'BMW Iconic Glow', large air intakes, and a power dome on the hood, creating a striking impression. The roofline extends all the way to the trunk, while the muscular shoulder line gives the car a sporty silhouette. At the rear, the vertical rear reflectors, a large diffuser integrating left and right twin tailpipes, and a touring-specific rear spoiler combine to deliver a powerful yet stable image.
Inside, the M leather steering wheel features red accents and a D-cut design inspired by race cars, while the new M multifunction seats are suitable for both sporty and long-distance driving. The BMW Curved Display, consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch control display, features an exclusive M interface. The trunk offers a basic cargo capacity of 500 liters, expandable up to 1,630 liters.
