A Variety of Attractions Including Local Food Zones and Agricultural Specialty Booths
Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province will host the final Gwangjang Festa of the year, "Season 5: Merry Christmas in Advance," at Jangsu Meeting Plaza from December 6 to 7.
According to the county on December 4, this Gwangjang Festa is an end-of-year festival that everyone from young children to adults can enjoy. It will feature Jangsu County’s signature foods and agricultural specialties, as well as a variety of interactive experience programs.
The event venue will offer popular local foods such as gochujang pork barbecue, fire-grilled boneless chicken feet, mussel soup, Vietnamese cuisine, street food, Hong Kong waffles, and towel cakes. There will also be booths selling Jangsu County’s agricultural specialties, including apples, tomatoes, juice, syrup, bugak (crispy vegetable chips), and sikhye (sweet rice drink).
Additionally, family-friendly experience programs such as making Christmas tree ornaments, DIY creative blocks, and crafting acrylic mood lamps will be available. In particular, Jangsu Mall will sell a 30% discount voucher package that can be used for attractions at the Gwangjang Festa, helping to reduce the financial burden for visitors.
Ten vouchers worth 50,000 won can be purchased for 35,000 won, and they can be exchanged and used at the operations headquarters exchange booth on site.
Visitors will also receive free Santa hats and Rudolph headbands on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be on-site participation events, such as awarding one voucher (worth 5,000 won) to those wearing a red dress code and two vouchers (worth 10,000 won) to those who promote the Gwangjang Festa on social media.
County Governor Choi Hunsik said, "Starting with Season 1: Beer in the summer, followed by Makgeolli, sauces, kimchi-making experiences, and finally Season 5: Merry Christmas in Advance, this has been a great opportunity for many people to visit Jangsu and experience what the county has to offer. I hope this final event will be an occasion enjoyed by both residents and visitors alike."
