World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the United States and No. 2 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland have been named finalists for the 2025 PGA Tour Player of the Year award.
On December 3 (local time), the PGA Tour announced four nominees for Player of the Year: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood of England, and Ben Griffin of the United States. The winner will be selected by votes from tour members who have participated in at least 15 regular-season events during the 2025 season. Voting runs from December 3 to December 12, and the winner will be announced at a later date.

View original imageScheffler is aiming to win the PGA Tour Player of the Year award, also known as the Jack Nicklaus Award, for the fourth consecutive year. This season, he claimed six victories, including the PGA Championship and The Open, both major tournaments. He ranked first in both prize money and scoring average, and did not miss a single cut.
McIlroy completed a career Grand Slam by winning the Masters this year, and also captured the title at The Players Championship, often referred to as the fifth major. If McIlroy wins Player of the Year, it will be his fourth time since the 2018-2019 season.
