Gyeonggi Province to Conduct Intensive General and Special Inspections of 28 Affiliated Institutions Until January Next Year
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will conduct inspections of its 28 affiliated public institutions over a two-month period until January next year.
The purpose of these inspections goes beyond simple detection or verification; it aims to identify and prevent recurring issues in the operation of public institutions in advance.
In particular, the inspections will focus on areas that have repeatedly been flagged as problematic, such as personnel management, attendance, and the management of official vehicles. The actual conditions in these areas will be closely examined, and possibilities for improvement will be discussed.
The inspections will be carried out by a 'joint inspection team' composed of the department overseeing all public institutions and the departments responsible for each institution. Both special inspections on repeatedly cited issues and general inspections covering overall operations will be conducted simultaneously.
The special inspections will cover the actual use of official vehicles, attendance management, and the appropriateness of personnel and recruitment procedures. The general inspections will address nine areas, including regulation updates, accounting and budgeting, asset management, safety management, administrative audits, and follow-up actions on media reports.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will share the inspection results with all institutions in February next year. Through these inspections, the government aims to proactively prevent the recurrence of problems and create an opportunity to enhance transparency and accountability in the operation of public institutions.
