Shinan County Achieves a Successful Conclusion to the 8th Administration
Securing 330.5 Billion Won in Grant Projects
Achievement Amounts to 30% of Total County Budget
Shinan County in South Jeolla Province has secured a total of 330.5 billion won through central government and public institution project grants in the final year of the 8th popularly elected administration. This large-scale financial acquisition amounts to approximately 30% of last year's county budget of 964.8 billion won, and is expected to serve as a key resource driving regional development.
According to the county, a total of 21 projects were selected for the 2025 central government and public institution grant programs, securing essential funding across various sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, youth policy, residential environment, and cultural tourism.
Major selected projects include: ▲1.928 trillion won for the Rural Basic Income Pilot Project ▲69.6 billion won for the 2025 Rural Agreement ▲15 billion won for the establishment of a youth start-up rental-type aquaculture complex ▲10 billion won for rural specialized district spatial improvement ▲10 billion won for the Youth Rural Housing Project ▲4 billion won for the creation of spawning habitats for rockfish resources, among others. Many of these are core projects aimed at enhancing the region's future competitiveness.
The county explained that this achievement was the result of an all-out effort led by Acting County Governor Kim Daein, with full engagement from all departments, including the Planning and Strategy Office, Culture, Arts and Tourism Bureau, Industry and Construction Bureau, New and Renewable Energy Bureau, Agricultural Technology Center, and Public Health Center, in responding to grant opportunities.
Acting County Governor Kim Daein stated, "Securing large-scale grant funding is highly meaningful as it provides essential resources for the development of Shinan County," and added, "We will ensure that these projects deliver tangible benefits to our residents." He continued, "We will do our utmost to secure additional grant projects for 2025, and in 2026, we will further strengthen the foundation for resident-oriented, customized regional projects and large-scale grant attraction."
