Showbox Partners with Leading Thai Studio
MOU Signed with M Studio
IP Adaptation and Joint Production
On December 3, Showbox announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Thai production and distribution company M Studio for the joint production of films.
M Studio is a production and distribution company under Major Cineplex Group, Thailand's largest cinema chain. The company has demonstrated strengths in the horror and action genres, capturing a 54% share of the Thai box office from last year through this year. In particular, the 'Death Whisperer' series was a box office hit, generating cumulative revenue of 73.4 billion won.
The two companies will collaborate in all areas, including joint scenario development, co-investment, personnel exchange, and global distribution. Showbox is also considering adapting some of its intellectual property (IP) into Thai films.
Showbox stated, "Thailand is a high-potential market with unique creativity and a rapidly developing film industry," adding, "We aim to create projects that connect with audiences in various countries."
