On December 3, Yeongdeungpo District announced that its public health center was the only one among Seoul’s autonomous districts to be selected as a "2025 Outstanding Institution for Maternal and Child Health Projects." The district was highly rated for establishing a comprehensive support system covering all stages from preparing for pregnancy to childbirth and childcare.

In particular, when the "Preconception Health Management Support Project" was suspended due to the early depletion of central government funds, the district urgently allocated its own budget after gathering input from local youth. This had a positive impact on the Ministry of Health and Welfare securing additional funding, leading to the nationwide resumption of the project. Providing continuous services to over 5,000 local youth was introduced as a "model case for local governments."

Programs for nurturing healthy parents, such as night classes for engaged and newlywed couples, the Happy Mom childbirth preparation class, a sensory-based prenatal education program in cooperation with 12 local and external institutions, and a science-based prenatal education program in partnership with Gwacheon National Science Museum, further contributed to the district’s excellence.

Meanwhile, the "Mobile Dementia Prevention Music Therapy Program" of the Yeongdeungpo Dementia Relief Center received the Grand Prize at the Best Practices Competition. Comprising neighborhood music classes, the "Art Story" program, and the "Memory Boost Concert," this inclusive model engaged not only dementia patients but also the general public. This year, the program collaborated with 40 institutions and had participation from over 5,300 people. Participant satisfaction reached 95%.

Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "It is highly meaningful that our health support programs, which cover all stages of the life cycle, have been recognized for their achievements. We will continue to expand customized health management projects that residents can experience in their daily lives."
