Pukyong National University Marine Bionics Convergence Technology Center Wins Outstanding Paper Award at 21st Korean Society of Marine Biotechnology Conference
Professor Kim Taehee and Researcher Kim Sechang Recognized for Outstanding Research on Marine Polysaccharides and Glycomics Technology
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) announced that the research team at the Marine Bionics Convergence Technology Center (Director Jeong Wongyo) received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 21st Annual General Meeting and Academic Conference of the Korean Society of Marine Biotechnology.
The center, which is a university-focused research institute in the science and engineering field designated by the Ministry of Education, was honored at the conference held at Arpina, Busan Metropolitan Corporation, for the paper titled "Biomedical Engineering Applications of Marine Polysaccharides for Glycomics Technology" authored by Professor Kim Taehee and Researcher Kim Sechang.
The award-winning paper, published in Volume 16, Issue 2 (December 2024) of the Journal of the Korean Society of Marine Biotechnology, comprehensively summarized the characteristics of marine polysaccharide-based biomaterials.
In particular, the paper presented recent cases of biological interaction analysis of marine polysaccharide-based biomaterials using emerging omics technologies. It was highly evaluated for suggesting both the applicability of glycomics technology and the development direction for personalized and disease-targeted biomedical engineering technologies.
