Equipped with an ultra-high-resolution electro-optical (EO) camera, the Multipurpose Practical Satellite 7 is capable of capturing high-precision images at the 0.3-meter level, and is expected to provide high-quality imagery for a wide range of fields, including land management, environmental monitoring, disaster response, urban planning, and scientific research.
KAI stated that, following the successful launch of the Next-Generation Medium Satellite 3 last week, the successful development of the Multipurpose Practical Satellite 7 main body further demonstrates the company’s top-tier domestic capabilities in main body and satellite development. In July last year, KAI became the first private company in Korea to establish a 4-ton class large thermal vacuum chamber facility capable of simultaneously testing small to large satellites, and the company plans to further expand its infrastructure by adding electromagnetic testing facilities. This will enable KAI to offer a ‘one-stop’ infrastructure where the entire satellite development process-from design to manufacturing and environmental testing-can be conducted in one place.
