Industrial Tools Company 'Cretech' and Automotive Parts Firm Ajin Industrial Become Official Sponsors of Daegu Masters Athletics Championships
The Organizing Committee for the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships signed an official sponsorship agreement with leading local companies Cretech and Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd. at 10:30 a.m. on December 1 at the Dongin Government Complex of Daegu City Hall.
Attending the signing ceremony were Jeonggi Kim, Acting Mayor of Daegu and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee; Youngsoo Choi, Chairman and CEO of Cretech; Jungho Seo, CEO of Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd.; and Gihun Jin, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee. They reaffirmed their commitment to financial support and mutual cooperation for the successful operation of the event.

View original imageCretech, participating as a sponsor, is the largest industrial tools company in Korea and last year became the first mid-sized company to be inducted into the Korea Service Awards Hall of Fame. Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd. is a leading regional global mid-sized company in the automotive parts sector, recognized for innovation and technological advancement, and was awarded the 400 Million Dollar Export Tower last year.
Through this agreement, Cretech and Ajin Industrial Co., Ltd. will hold official sponsor status until September 3 of next year, when the event concludes. They will receive various privileges including the right to use the official sponsor designation, marketing support, invitations to the opening and closing ceremonies, exclusive sponsor spaces, and commemorative plaques.
The World Masters Athletics Championships (WMAC) is the only global athletics competition for sports enthusiasts aged 35 and older, focusing on exchange and harmony rather than competition, and is a true international sports festival.
This year’s Daegu event will be held over 13 days from August 22 to September 3, 2026, at four venues including Daegu Stadium. Applications to participate can be submitted through the official event website from December 23 to June 23 of next year.
Jeonggi Kim, Acting Mayor, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs, and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, stated, "I sincerely thank local companies for actively sponsoring the event despite challenging economic and industrial conditions. We will focus all our efforts to ensure thorough preparation so that corporate participation leads to the successful hosting of the event, and we will also do our best to enhance the value of their brands."
Youngsoo Choi, Chairman and CEO of Cretech, said, "Having served as president of the Daegu Athletics Federation for four years and personally participated in the 2018 World Masters Athletics Championships in Malaga, Spain, I have a deep affection for the development of athletics in Daegu. I will spare no effort in providing careful attention and support to ensure the success of this event."
