Guri Distribution General Market Parking Lot
Open for Shared Use from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
Improved Convenience and Eased Parking Shortages Expected for Residents
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyeon) announced on November 27 that it will officially designate the parking lot within the Guri Distribution General Market as a "shared parking lot" and open it to citizens starting December 1, in order to promote a culture of shared parking and alleviate parking inconveniences for local residents.
The "shared parking lot" initiative is a project aimed at easing urban parking shortages by allowing individuals, organizations, and institutions to open their affiliated parking lots to citizens during unused hours.
The shared parking lot at the Guri Distribution General Market will be available to all citizens from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. every day, starting December 1, 2025. The city expects this to not only improve parking convenience but also help spread the culture of shared parking within the region.
Mayor Baek Kyunghyeon stated, "By designating the Guri Distribution General Market as a shared parking lot, we are providing citizens with a pleasant parking environment while also making meaningful efforts to utilize urban space more efficiently. We will continue to expand shared parking in ways that citizens can truly experience."
Meanwhile, Guri City is currently operating a total of 18 shared parking lots at public institutions and private facilities, offering 1,279 parking spaces during weekday nights and weekends. The city plans to continue its efforts to promote the culture of shared parking in the future.
