Samsung Electronics Service Marks 30 Years of Technology Competition
Safety Innovation Conference Held to Promote Safety Awareness
Samsung Electronics Service is holding a technology competition over a span of 30 years to strengthen the technical capabilities of its engineers. The company has also decided to identify safety innovation cases, recognizing that 'safety' is a core element of service quality.
Samsung Electronics Service announced that it will hold the 'Service Technology Competition and Safety Innovation Conference' at the Samsung Electronics CS Academy in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, from November 26 to 27. Since its introduction in 1986 as the industry's first event, the 'Service Technology Competition' marks its 30th year and has contributed to providing high-quality service by enhancing engineers' technical expertise.

As safety has emerged as a key component of service quality, the goal is to raise safety awareness among employees and discover outstanding cases that help create a safer work environment. In fact, many engineers who provide services in various work environments, as well as experts from organizations such as the Korea Industrial Safety Association and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, are participating, and it is expected that highly effective ideas will be uncovered.
This year's competition, held under the theme 'The Future of AI Service and Safety Culture,' consists of 10 categories: five repair competitions, four service innovation case categories, and one safety innovation category.
The 'Repair Competition' evaluates the professional skills of service engineers. The main focus is on whether engineers can quickly and accurately diagnose the condition of products in an environment that replicates actual customer service sites. In line with the trend of advanced AI features in Samsung Electronics products, the repair competition categories have been reorganized to increase the proportion of AI-powered new products and to assess multi-tasking capabilities that allow engineers to inspect multiple products simultaneously.

Engineers present their ideas discovered during customer service in the form of research papers, or they develop and improve repair equipment and present their innovations. Selected cases among the entries are applied to actual service sites, helping to ensure that superior service is delivered safely.
The newly introduced 'Service Safety Innovation Conference' consists of a safety innovation case competition and events to promote a culture of safety. In the 'Safety Innovation Case Competition,' the focus is on discovering excellent cases that prevent accidents in service settings and enhance operational safety. The 'Safety Culture Event' features a variety of activities to raise employees' safety awareness, including expert forums, quiz competitions, and hands-on safety experience exhibitions.
