Economic stakeholders in the southern region of South Chungcheong Province have declared the establishment of an independent economic platform, moving beyond the limitations of the current jurisdiction under the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
With the official announcement of the establishment of the "South Chungnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry" (tentative name), which aims to fully represent the region's industrial structure and voices, attention is focused on whether the economic landscape of the southern region will be newly reshaped.
The southern economic bloc of South Chungcheong Province has united to establish an independent chamber of commerce. The South Chungnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Establishment Promotion Committee (Chairman Kim Jungyun) announced on the 26th that it held the "South Chungnam Economic Bloc Chamber of Commerce Vision Declaration Ceremony" at the Noblesse Convention Wedding Hall in Nonsan on the 25th.
According to Nonsan City, the eight cities and counties in Nonsan and the southern region of South Chungcheong Province are currently under the jurisdiction of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
However, there have been criticisms that the region's industrial structure and economic conditions differ from those of Daejeon, and that the challenges and realities faced by businesses in the southern region are not sufficiently reflected.
In response, the promotion committee has raised the need to establish the "South Chungnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry" (tentative name) to strengthen the growth foundation for businesses in the southern region and to secure the independence of the local economy, and has begun full-scale efforts toward this goal.
During the vision declaration ceremony, the committee reported on its activities and shared future strategies. Local businesspeople and institutional representatives agreed that this is an essential task for the economic self-reliance of the southern region.
