Since enacting the 'Ordinance on Support for Health Insurance Premiums and Long-term Care Insurance Premiums for Low-Income Residents of Gijang County' in 2007, the county has continuously implemented support policies for residents facing financial difficulties in paying their health insurance premiums.
As of this year, the county is providing a total of 220 million won in health insurance premium support to approximately 3,000 households, including seniors, people with disabilities, and single-parent families. Amid worsening living conditions due to the recent economic downturn and rising prices, this program is recognized as playing a significant role in improving medical accessibility and quality of life for local residents.
