On November 25, Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province opened the "Senior Citizens with Disabilities Rest Maru," a dedicated rest and leisure space for senior citizens with disabilities.
Rest Maru was established on the first floor of the Disabled Connection Center, located in the remodeled building of the former recycling center at 110-7 Haan-dong, with a total area of 303 square meters.

View original imageThe facility offers a caf?, rest area, and program room, providing a comfortable space where people with disabilities aged 60 and over can stay and communicate. The program room hosts a variety of leisure activities, including laughter therapy, cultural excursions, sports classes for people with physical disabilities, and handicraft workshops.
The city also plans to operate sports programs in connection with the park golf course located on the basement level of the center. For senior citizens with disabilities who need assistance, the city will provide necessary support such as counseling and care, while also offering customized services to connect them with various local welfare resources.
Rest Maru is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and all programs are offered free of charge. For more information, visitors can inquire in person at the Disabled Connection Center or by phone.
