Sangkyu Park, the 17th former Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, passed away on the 24th after a long illness. He was 89 years old.

View original imagePark began his career in 1972 as president of Hanil Nonferrous Metals, later serving as CEO of Hanbo Metal Industry and Chairman of the Korea Federation of Nonferrous Metal Industry Cooperatives. From 1992 to 1995, he served as the 17th Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, dedicating himself to protecting the rights and strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.Afterwards, he entered politics and served as a member of the 15th and 16th National Assembly. He also held positions as the first Chairman of the Special Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises, Secretary-General of the Millennium Democratic Party, and Chairman of the National Assembly's Industrial Resources Committee during the 16th term.

He is survived by his wife Kim Jaesoon, his eldest son Joungho, his second son Jounghyuk, and his eldest daughter Hyunjung. The funeral will be held in Room 2 of the Samsung Seoul Hospital Funeral Hall, with the burial scheduled for 11 a.m. on the 26th. The final resting place will be Yongin Park Cemetery in Cheoin-gu, Yongin.
