I am grateful to the farmers who did their utmost to produce high-quality rice despite these challenging circumstances."
He added, "Today, I personally checked the condition of the rice grains in the sacks and the application of purchase quality standards. While inspecting the public stockpiled rice purchase site, I asked the officials to pay special attention to ensure the process proceeds smoothly and that no inconvenience is caused to the farmers."
He further emphasized, "By carefully listening to the difficulties faced by farmers due to abnormal weather during the harvest season and pest outbreaks, I will actively reflect the opinions raised on-site in future policies."
This year, Jangsu County was allocated a total of 3,851 tons of public stockpiled rice, consisting of 1,981 tons of dried rice and 1,870 tons of fresh rice.
Currently, 2,609 tons have been purchased in areas other than Sanseo-myeon. As soon as the purchase of 1,242 tons of dried rice in Sanseo-myeon is completed, the county plans to purchase all damaged rice separately from the public stockpiled rice program to help reduce the burden on farmers.
The county has implemented various support programs to create stable rice cultivation conditions, including providing seedling soil mats, supporting joint seedling cultivation for elderly farmers, joint pest and disease control, and supplying equipment for rice production facilities.
