Among the 49 public museums in Gyeonggi Province subject to evaluation, only 16 institutions have been certified for four consecutive terms, and the museum’s evaluation score was also among the highest, adding further significance to this achievement.
In this year’s evaluation, the museum received scores above the overall average across all five assessment categories, including the achievement of its founding purpose. In particular, it demonstrated a 95-100% achievement rate in areas such as operational status, collection and research of artifacts, exhibitions, educational programs, and cooperation with the local community. This confirms that the museum has faithfully fulfilled its role as the only public museum in the Yangju area.
A museum official stated, "Achieving certification for four consecutive terms is the result of all museum staff consistently working to vitalize the museum for citizens and to convey the value of the Hoam Temple Site. We will continue to strive to ensure that citizens can enjoy high-quality cultural services as the central institution for history and culture in Yangju City."
The "Public Museum Evaluation and Certification System" is a system that certifies outstanding institutions by evaluating public museums that have been registered for more than three years, according to certain criteria, in accordance with Article 26 of the Museum and Art Gallery Promotion Act and Article 17-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the same law. The certification is valid for three years.
