Through these efforts, Seo-gu has established itself as a model local government in the field of community integrated care.
In particular, Seo-gu has introduced innovative integrated care policies tailored to local needs, including: the operation of "24-hour Integrated Care," which provides a one-stop service from registration to consultation and processing with a single phone call; the opening of the nation's first home-based medical center; the establishment of a public medical care model; mandatory preventive home visits for those aged 75 and older; and the installation and operation of a Smart Care Information Center. As a result, local governments across the country continue to inquire about benchmarking Seo-gu's initiatives.
This sharing meeting was attended by around 100 stakeholders, including members of the Integrated Care Council, service providers, and partner organizations. The event featured video and presentation-based sharing of achievements, announcements of future tasks, and a thank-you postcard activity.
Yoo Aejeong, Director of the Integrated Support Policy Development Center at the National Health Insurance Service, stated in her presentation, "Seo-gu, Gwangju, is presenting the most advanced operational model among the local governments participating in the national integrated care pilot project," adding, "It is a meaningful case that has laid the foundation for Gwangju-style integrated care and played a leading role in driving national policy."
Kim Igang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "This sharing meeting is a meaningful occasion to reflect on the changes achieved in integrated care in Seo-gu over the past seven years and to prepare for a new leap forward," adding, "We will further strengthen the care system with community participation so that everyone can live healthily in their own neighborhoods."
