View original imageThe Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Census is a national basic statistical survey overseen by the National Data Agency. As of the reference date for the survey, it covers all farming, forestry, and fishing households (both marine and inland) within Jeongeup City, as well as all administrative villages.
Through this process, the census measures structural changes in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, industrial competitiveness, and the quality of life in rural and fishing communities. Ultimately, the results will serve as essential foundational data for establishing key national policies and regional balanced development plans.
To enhance the accuracy and professionalism of the census, the city has selected a total of 124 survey personnel. From the 24th to the 26th, they will receive systematic job training alongside responsible public officials before being deployed to the field.
The estimated number of households to be surveyed is approximately 16,144. The survey will utilize four types of questionnaires-farming/forestry households, marine fishing households, inland fishing households, and regional surveys-covering a total of 133 items. To encourage participation, the online survey will be conducted first until December 10, while face-to-face interviews will take place from December 2 to December 22.
Notably, this census actively reflects the rapidly changing environment of rural and fishing communities and the policy needs of government ministries. Items such as 'response to climate change,' 'expansion of smart agriculture,' and 'demographic and social changes' have been included to capture current trends.
In addition, the regional survey conducted at the administrative village level will comprehensively analyze the local ecosystem by assessing the status of medical, health, and welfare facilities, as well as living, educational, and transportation infrastructure.
A city official stated, "The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Census strengthens the competitiveness of these industries and improves the quality of life in rural and fishing communities, ultimately leading to policies that benefit all citizens. As this is an important survey for designing a sustainable future for rural and fishing areas, we ask for the active interest of citizens and the cooperation of those involved in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries."
