Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology Conducts Marine Cleanup at Baekmi-ri, Hwaseong
The Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology conducted the fourth quarter marine cleanup activity of the "2025 Gyeonggi Sea Together" campaign on November 21 at the Baekmi-ri coast in Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong City.
"Gyeonggi Sea Together" is a large-scale environmental conservation campaign promoted by Gyeonggi Province to protect the ecosystem from marine waste such as microplastics and to create a cleaner Gyeonggi Sea.
Gyeonggi Province, five coastal cities, and 11 public institutions including the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology have signed an agreement to carry out regular coastal cleanup activities at least once every quarter.

View original imageDuring the cleanup activity held at the Baekmi-ri coast, the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology collected various types of marine waste, including discarded fishing nets, plastic bottles, and styrofoam, that had accumulated along the shoreline.
Since 2023, the institute has been conducting quarterly volunteer activities. This year, a total of four cleanup activities were carried out, focusing on Jeongokhang and Baekmi-ri coasts in Hwaseong.
