Strengthening Global Competitiveness of Korean SMEs and Startups
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency announced on November 23 that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technological cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with the Indian Institute of Technology TIF (IIT Ropar Technology & Innovation Foundation) at the ICT Hotel in New Delhi, India, on November 21 (local time).
India is emerging as a new powerhouse in AI, leveraging the world’s largest pool of technology talent and pursuing a variety of policies centered on the government-led ‘India AI Mission.’ These policies include expanding AI infrastructure, opening public data, and fostering AI talent.

View original imageThrough this agreement, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency plans to jointly identify AI-based cooperation models that will support the overseas expansion of domestic companies in key industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and energy by utilizing the outstanding research capabilities and technological infrastructure of the Indian Institute of Technology TIF.
The AI Forum, held immediately after the signing ceremony, was attended by more than 50 participants, including officials from the Indian government such as the Startup Hub under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, local startups, research institutions, and investors. They shared the latest policies and market trends in India’s AI industry and discussed ways to apply AI across various industries.
This event was organized as part of a collaborative program jointly promoted by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency’s Global Business Center (GBC) in New Delhi and the Northeast Asia & ASEAN Regional Headquarters. The regional headquarters led the event’s operations, including recruiting domestic startups, and supported the collaborative project.
